Of course this does not apply to everyone. My daughter who has a 2:1 in English and a masters degree in IT, holds a highly paid job as a coder and was named as one of the most influential women in technology Britain in the Sunday Times sits glued to Kim Kardashian et al.
Beat me to it Virginia. Evelyn you need to get out more!
Surely since Dara O'Briain is so frequently on TV, Evelyn needs to stay in more ;)

RE: Veterinary homeopathy on Radio 4 Today Programme this morning
my objection to any theory which totally discounts God is Big Bang of what?
What amazes me is that astro-physicists are only just beginning to question what happened before the big bang and are considering the possibility that it was just the latest in an infinite number of big bangs which occurred before it. This has always seemed to me to be the only plausible explanation: that the stuff that makes the universe has always existed and always will - as you say Wynne, it can't be created or destroyed. It will eventually all contract down again, another big bang will happen, another universe will be created and so ad infinitum. Indeed there are almost certainly an infinite number of universes where this also happening.

If you wanted to you could say the universe is God and God is the universe, one and the same. It is just difficult for the feeble human mind to contemplate infinity because everything we experience is finite. Personally I think infinity is more plausible than divine intervention.

Um - mammals came before birds. Oh dear, not identical after all. You may now stop being curious...

and if you cannot destroy matter, what happened in Japan at the end of WW2?

Anyway - no more on the non-existence of God - back to the non-existence of the healing powers of homeopathy...

RE: Veterinary homeopathy on Radio 4 Today Programme this morning

Whilst 6 days (remember God rested on the 7th) is obviously ludicrous, my objection to any theory which totally discounts God is Big Bang of what? Any scientifically valid theory has to take into consideration the law "Matter cannot be created nor destroyed"

Incidentally, I find it curious that the order of creation in Genesis - 1st fish then birds, then mammals is identical to the proven order of evolution

The 6 days of Genesis is a gross over-simplification, but I don't think the non-existance of God has been conclusively proven either.
