Well, in December 2013 I think, a Frenchman aged 102 beat his own world record for cycling the maximum distance in one hour by 100-year olds. He rode about 18 miles! So no prizes for guessing my ambition when I get to 100!! I want the record for un Anglais. I'll expect you all to be there cheering me on if you don't mind!

I gave up celebrating birthdays a long time ago, what's the point of celebrating getting older once you've reached adulthood? And woe betide anyone who arranges a secret party, albeit I might take that at 100. In fact I forget its my birthday until I find there's an unusual amount of post for me one morning.

However I'm not scared to admit my age (66 in a week), actually the opposite because I want people to say things like, 'Gosh you look amazing for that age, I don't believe it'. Whether that is false flattery or not I'm not sure but I'll take it and feel my best years are still ahead of me. First target is 80 so I can get a free ski lift pass which I fully intend using on a snowboard, then 95 which is the age my father died - still a spring chicken then. Well, its best to be positive.

Where I left the children
What my children are called
Who that woman is who keeps coming in and telling me off for coming in to the house with muddy boots
