I've e-mailed both Idexx and Finn labs to see if they're organizing any courses in the near future. In the meantime I'll try to get my microscope and stains all set up at their best and will try to always do two slides, one for the external lab and one to look at it myself! Practice makes perfect or at least it should ;) Thanks a million again!! :D

Finn, if you use them, do free ones but you have to travel to Norfolk.
The other thing is to look yourself, make your diagnosis and then send the sample to the lab to compare. Then revisit the slides with the diagnosis. I think you need to look first and write down or its a bit early to look and nod knowingly with the pathologists report in hand.

The other things that are important are good facilities. Have you got a decent, clean, working microscope, set up somewhere nice to work. Decent quality slides, cloverslips, stains, mounting agents, etc. If you have some crusty stain from 1978 and a microscope full of crud then you don't stand a hope in hell.
