The fact that he's in the band might have swayed the thinking (er - cheaper, er, at home etc etc) AND we wish them well and that they DANCE like dervishes

RE: Nick Blayney's wedding a Ceilidh from ReelVets.

as a post-script to this astonishing night of carousing and cavorting our traditional "end-of-dance-that's-yer-lot - now bugger-off-home" is a series of three tunes, accompanied by the challenge "see if you can beat the band" as it invariably gets faster and faster and faster until someone's fingers need suturing back into place.....

Well - THIS lot, being medics and Naval medics to boot adopted an altogether more sanguine approach which was actually rather touching and far more appropriate and in keeping with the flow of the evening.....thus:- when the pace got red-hot they showed right down, and spontaneously formed a large circle around the dance-floor into which they propelled the brand new Bride and her brand new Groom, taking centre stage for one last time, where they, rising to the occasion took a Ballroom Hold and swayed delicately with the music while the 50-80 odd couples encircling them drew ever closer, giving them great whoops and cheers of sheer delight.

A truly delightful, lump-in-the-throat moment for everyone present, symbolically marking the end of a complete triumph of a day of celebration for a popular couple.

A Fairytale ending to a wonderful day.

RE: Nick Blayney's wedding a Ceilidh from ReelVets.

That's what I call proper dancing, and proper music
