I am always willing to help out genuinely needy clients with reduced/at cost treatment but there are too many who are prepared to milk the system to make it known. We have however always been happy to treat strays/dumped animals out of our own (well read mine for that) own pockets and my nurses will freely give their time for such.

We assist with the C4 charity neutering scheme for strays and impecunious owners. Had someone book in to adult cat castrates as 'strays' under this scheme but when questioned they'd had them vaccinated and microchipped (at the vet up the road of course). 'Sorry they are your cats as you've clearly adopted them, they are no longer strays but I'll do them if you can prove you qualify by benefits and you can show proof of benefit/low income/pension/student etc'. Needless they no showed for their appointment this morning. The irony is the vet they go to charges less than we do to castrate but of course this is still more than if being 'free' on a charity scheme.
