However, I find it frustrating that I constantly have to take them out in order to use a stethoscope at work. I find a hearing aid incompatible with stethoscope use. I have tried a electronic littmann (can't' remember which model). It was pretty good - past tense because somebody decided their need for it was greater than mine! Fortunately my hearing loss is intermittent and for the most part I get by, but when I get a respiratory bug the volume goes down. I have been to ent today to think about a bone fixed aid as this will allow me to use a stethoscope without removing and reattaching the hearing aid. I asked the consultant about stethoscope use to increase volume and the only option currently useful would be an electronic scope.

I did notice on the advertising bumph for the bone fixed hearing aid that they can be connected to wifi specifically to increase the volume on tv's or microphones (useful for deaf kids when teacher wears a microphone). i would imagine it is not a huge step to get this technology into a stethoscope. However, i am not sure there is an advantage in this over the littmann stethoscope. There was software on that for transmitting data to a PC and producing audiograph but I never got round to using that.

RE: Hearing aids and stethoscopes

I have the same problem and I tried, I tried.

I had the expensive electronic stethoscope on trial and was very disappointed. Firstly, it would not Bluetooth (or link by any other means) to my hearing aids. Secondly, as a stethoscope it seemed no better than my favourite Littmanns. Yes, you could plug it into a Windoze computer and get a trace – big deal.

I also still have a crappy Chinese one that came from JAK, I think. That will Bluetooth to my hearing aids, but it's so poorly made I wouldn't trust it.

There's something called an Ekuore (?) from I think either JAK or Vet Direct. That might work, via Bluetooth, but frankly I can't be bothered to risk the expense to try it.

I've gone back to just leaving the hearing aids out.

RE: Hearing aids and stethoscopes

Out of genuine interest (for the future!), I had a look round!

Seems there is good interaction with bluetooth computers but not hearing aids!

RE: Hearing aids and stethoscopes

We had an electronicone and I wasn't very impressed. It was not as good as a quality Littman for example, so I don't think I could recommend one . Sorry.
