In the 1990s a vet was reprimanded for failing to euthanase an incontinent bitch. I wrote to the Vet Rec saying I didnt think a vet should be obliged to euthanase an animal that wasnt suffering. The RCVS president at the time replied that it was the vet's duty to accede to the client's wishes. After a storm of protest at this statement, they relented and changed the GtoPC. A similar thing happened a couple of years later when a vet was reprimanded when she failed to perform a house visit when she feared for her safety - protests led to the RCVS changing its guidance then. And then of course there was blanketgate, with the RCVS changing its attitude to the use of bed coverings in veterinary practice!

RE: Homeopathy continues its decline ...
Noow we just have to hope the RCVS starts to see things the same way.
Since the Dawn of Time the RCVS has given ground on two occasions only

1. When told to go away by EFRACOM (2006)

2. When conceding on post nominals (2014)

It's their BIG PROBLEM, so don't hold your breath

RE: Homeopathy continues its decline ...

Good to see common-sense prevailing in some quarters.
What planet do some of these people live on? Human drugs are more highly tested than many veterinary ones and many historically were tested on dogs!

Compare that to homeopathy which has been shown in human trials to be 'equally' good as placebo's and veterinary trials have bordered on farcical at times.

Of course there are more side effects with human drugs than homeopathic ones - they are proper medicines, homeopathic remedies are just water or sugar pills!

Adverse reactions to water and sugar pills are peeing more and in vast excess, diabetes!

RE: Homeopathy continues its decline ...
Many people in Spain come from a background of lack of scientific education
That most certainly is not limited to Spain!

RE: Homeopathy continues its decline ...
Many people in Spain come from a background of lack of scientific education and are unable to make a decision whether they want to try one of these things or not. Thankfully, the widespread of public(schooling) and mandatory education is helping the new generation.

I still have a book from when my mum went to school. I'll try to scan it this weekend and how what was taught back then.

RE: Homeopathy continues its decline ...

Francisco Good thing too.
