I have it in the car in a squirty bottle for scrubbing up. I bet I don't get through £2.50 worth in a year for this purpose. Iodine reacts with the steel.

My wife does more horses teeth than I do - I will find out what she uses.

Sure, but why? Hibiscrub is a rather expensive preparation of chlorhexidine with special detergents and other things designed for surgical scrubbing (hand and skin). Why not use cheap straight hibitane? There are chlorhexidine solutions sold as dairy disinfectants that are even cheaper.

RE: Hexarinse alternatives for dentals?
Indeed! I spoke to somebody at Henry Schein some time ago about the price difference. I asked how many sprays they would expect to get out of a bottle. They promised to email me, but I haven't heard back...

RE: Hexarinse alternatives for dentals?
Not criticising, but the idea of Hibiscrub made me feel a bit queasy: it's frothy (cos it has detergent and other ingredients) and it tastes foul and it's more expensive.
