Profit as outcome is v trendy stuff. I would say that get the purpose and story right - values of service, how you do practice - deliver value - follows then what you do comes after, and in that order; then comes profit, then comes investment.

Create the most wonderful practice, for the animal and hence for the owner and the profit will surely follow - er - if the management is right??!!

I like it. I'm a little concerned that there seems to be a desire that we place animal welfare at the top, with staff welfare a little way below it. Those in practice know that this cannot be achieved without profit.
