no I am sorry Julie but thanks a lot. it is the plastic connection between the motor and the rotor.apparently needs to be plastic for balance purposes, and cannot be replaced separately. have had fixed as we speak.

Hi Patrick, is it the rotor shield thingy (plastic donut, and little black plastic bit the tubes go in??) I have one of those very items! I bought it from IDEXX a couple of months ago, before discovering it wasn't the problem (as they assured me it was!) I then changed our blood machine and they took the statspin back, so I had to buy a new centrifuge anyway! Long story short, I have a brand new rotor attachment plus shield and no statspin! So free to a good home, if it is the bit you are looking for!

There are some pretty impressive ones on Ebay. Multipurpose included.

Generally pretty reliable bits of kit so buying from a business seller should be fairly safe. Eg: item 161882831432.

Similar price to the repaired item. Better quality ones if you are willing to take a bit of a gamble!

most were micro spinners not multi purpose. I did get a hold of a company called Alpine who will fix it for less than 1/2 the other quotes. I have details if anyone at all interested

I have found out that it is a small plastic 'axle' that is broke. they want £650 to repair. please, does anyone have an old statspin in the cupboard that they would sell?

Abaxis/QCR have spares for some Idexx equipment. They took our Statspin as part exchange some years ago!!
