Regarding ensuring a dog or cat has good immunity from the rabies vaccine, i usually recommend people to do the protocol we used in southern Africa, have a booster ayear after the first rabies vaccine, then a 3 yearly booster after that.

Legally all that is required for EU pet passports issued in the UK,however, is the one jab every three years.

Only one client has taken this advice - all the others just do the bare minimum

PS sort of back to my OP, did you know that Calmex tablets (I gave the owner some for the dog for travelling) has the instructions in Korean, as well as nearly every other language under the sun, which must be a first.

And I agree with all you've said so far!

Of course they won't eat the dog in Korea.

Some poeple do eat dogs, and the way they treat them is horible.

But I'm sure this dog is safe from that.

And I'm sure it's safe from rabies too!

Immunity against rabies is rather cellular than humoral. Hence the test won't tell you much about the actual immunity. It's just easier to do than determine cellular immunity. Rabies is the vaccination which gives the longest and soundest protection, I wouldn't be worried about it at all. Legal regulations are a different cup of tea of course.
