Arlo Guthrie You are right-it does work fine for postcode if put a space in eg AB12 3CD rather than AB123CD and on my home post code as well, but might be worth a note to clarify as so many websites these days don't specify a space.

Also if I don't choose any specifics ie I just enter a postcode and choose within 15miles, will it just email me all job within that radius? or does one need to specify SA vet, part time job etc?

Thanks Kate Richardson that's really helpful.

The system is powered by Google, so it should recognise all postcodes, towns, cities etc. It should recognise both first few letters of a postcode and full postcode. In my case, BA11 or BA11 3QZ (but from memory, you must enter the postcode with the correct space). i don't think it is completely infallible, occasionally it doesn't recognise a postcode (more recently created ones, perhaps). Could you PM me the ones you were using, so I can double check.

OK Arlo Guthrie I have subscribed, but it wouldn't let me do by postcode- everytime I entered my postcode or my practice postcode it just says no jobs recognised. It will allow me to set up an alert by entering Devizes or SN10 but not a more detailed postcode. If that's how it's supposed to work it would be good to have something saying enter the first 3 or 4 numbers/letters only or did I just miss that?

Meanwhile, a few job alert subscriptions coming through, but very few from forum regulars so far, and I'm wondering if that's because you're not interested in knowing when jobs are advertised locally, or some problem with the system I don't know about.

Meantime, coming back to the OP, please EVERYONE, configure a job alert subscription in the jobs section. Even if you're not looking for a job! (surely interesting to know if someone is advertising up the road, even if you're not in the market for a job?)

Any feedback about how easy you find it to set up your subscription would be much appreciated.

Same on my android phone.

There is a 'thunder' sign that let me go to further options, but I'm unable to see 'Forums Home' which is what intersts me the most.

Yes, probably related, and probably a transient thing. Working OK on my iPad (that's what I'm replying on now). Trying to think what might cause that - could be that the pre-upgrade version of the site is cached at your service provider and when the cache refreshes, it'll look right again.

Joyce Whitehead just re-read your description and realised it's the same as that reported by Andy.

A bit of development code (something coming in the future), has slipped through. I'll ask techies to revert. Meantime, if you hold an iPad in landscape view, the problem goes away!
