Thank you Bob, and Gillian! You both make me wish that I could turnback the clock to speak to Hannah in order to have known this wonderful lady better! I probably will not and should not dwell on this because it is all too upsetting to hear it, albeit three years too late! But thanks for enlightening me regardless.

My own current depression would not be helped by dwelling on just how bad someone has to feel in order to take this step!

I think Wynne would be horrified to think anyone would be dwelling on this. She might have given you a bit of a ticking off though!!

She put everything into her veterinary life but gave none of us the slightest clue how big a mess she believed she was in.

I agree totally with Gillian that she lived and died on her own terms but many of us regret not being able to help. Not sure she ever realised how many friends she actually made here and how much support she could call on.

To the last she was having a go at the tax man!!

Not your problem and it is quite nice to be able to look back on someone we felt was a very unconventional friend.

Please don't dwell on this Julian. Wynne had her own demons, but, according to her own written word, they appeared to be primarily financial. My own opinion (and I may be wrong) was that she struggled to reconcile being an animal lover and a businesswoman. She not only dedicated herself to her patients 24/7, but also took on rescued horses etc. meaning the books never balanced. The tax man got involved and it seems she couldn't see a way out.

Wynne lived, and died, on her own terms. She was a powerful character who we all clashed with at times but we all still wish she had reached out to us for help - but that wasn't her way. But help would have been offered.

I doubt you caused any upset. Wynne always appeared robust but a loner.

I don't think it ever does harm to think back to some of the old brigade. Another was 'our man from Dubai' of course!

Sincere apologies Anthony, I did not know what had happened! Or if I did I had forgotten! Tragicand quite upsetting even though I never knew Hannah personally except as a poster on here!

I shall now dwell on this for sometime! Again, sorry for any upset caused.

I never failed to enjoy Wynne's posts. Politically a little right of Attila the Hun!

I would have loved her slant on the whole Brexit saga (Telegraph says we will be miles ahead of the EU by Christmas ) and actually genuinely interested in her views on the whole COVID thing.

Those who did not know her will not understand just how much she livened up the forum - not always in a PC way!

Edit: Rarely PC!

Just been re-reading some older posts and I never responded to this of yours Hannah... But I started working at weekends at a SA-vets in Leeds, well before university and did this from the ages of of 13 to 19. I learnt stuff there that I used. literally every single day of my career. Mopst notably giving cat a tablet reliably and I was shown this reliable method by Nick Easton in Leeds. I have tried to publicise, ( as it were, this technique in the veterinary press with little success so far! Ho-hum! Other important things included how to muzzle a dog with a piece of bandage at which one had to become fairly adept! But those 6 years were invaluable in understanding dog and cat behaviour at the vets and also one job was taking history from owners in the waiting room before seeing the vet. I had seen hundreds or more cases of distemper before university, plus cat flu cases, pyometras and knew the signalment for a pyo..., before a single day at Liverpool University! Useful or what???

Hello Arlo, You might have to indulge me again because I received good news a few days ago. Hammond House a publisher at Grimsby College ant to firstly do a new print run of Cows In Trees, plus publish my sequel containing the stories I forgot for the first one. The little details like the contract are yet to be sorted but all being well, in 2019 it will be ready. Writing these has definitely been fun, and excellent convalescence from my accident. I have not quite decided on the title yet. Maybe "The dog with the transplanted head?" to reflect one of the tales. Or even exploding vets?

Watch this space probably!

Did anyone see the ten-minute chat in the Record a week or two ago? That tale about the black Labrador Tess- Tickell was my story for my sequel book and Liz was the head nurse in Burnley at that time. I plan to use it in any case along with the cat weighing 33 pounds, the client who complained his dog got better too quickly! Hard to believe I'msure but yep I've received complaints over the years!

Hi Julian, just an update on the kindle thing. It is available now and have just bought it. Can't wait to start reading it, downlaoding takes a while with our internet speed at home (no fibre and broadband speed is a bit of a joke sometimes as well).
