I know that feeling. The mud is deeper than my boots in places on the land where I graze my beasties. I stood Albert the hinny on the one concreted area for his vaccination the other week, but felt very guilty about how much of a hike there was from the non-waterlogged part of the lane to where we were. At least the let-up in the rain continued until after we'd finished.

As for my workwear, I'm in an office, but have to cross the warehouse to get between our section and the marketing department. So it's sensible footwear (generally 8-hole DMs) and a smart-casual dress code (though I'm less casual than some of my co-workers): chinos, smart trousers or a long skirt with a shirt, blouse or jumper. We do seem to go in for a fair number of charity dress-up/dress-down days as well.

Among my other perfections I hardly sweat and certainly don't smell so while most people's underwear would walk itself to a washing machine after a couple of days mine is still good at the end of the week but there is a limit even for me! Of course another consideration is that Mrs A believes that a 30 degree wash instruction means its OK at 40 - after all its only another 10. This means that I have some rather small erm...smalls with properties closer to those you describe than Gilian's description!
