First afternoon consult - walk into consult room to find little shih tzu dog sitting calmly on table with tail slightly

RE: Eye Balling
he is a 'prize winning Lithuanian stud dog' so he needs both eyes.
I think that beats my one recently - I was requested to fix a young bull terrier's lymphoma, because she was the champion bitch of some country or other in that neck of the woods. But the chemo mustn't damage her fertility. And must also be cheap. And she had to be permanently fixed, to breed lots of little (presumably neoplasia prone) puppies. I would have laughed....if it had been funny. I did some firm but gentle (as one can be with a reasonably substantial language barrier) client education. They didn't come back. I hope she got euthanased somewhere, poor thing.

RE: Eye Balling
but they get the negative vibes nonetheless
I agree they are a pain ,and as soon as you start charging them properly for your time they clear off elsewhere.

The Pug FBD BD , airway eye and orthopaedic problems are interesting but totally preventable, just stop breeding them .But they do not want to hear that, your suggesting they stop collecting that 12k a year in undeclared income. Which of course makes you a horned demon, the antichrist, much easier to slope off somewhere that does not ask any questions.

The eye needs to come out ASAP. And the client needs some kind of responsible adult appointing to look after them before they go out into the world and get conned by a toddler group.

RE: Eye Balling

This must be the one occasion when I'm not as rude as you Wynne, but they get the negative vibes nonetheless!

RE: Eye Balling

Same here. Whenever I have a breeder phoning asking "Do you do special rates for breeders?", I reply, "Yes, twice the normal rates, to help pay for all the cut price work I do for charities, who are attempting to find good homes for all the excess animals you have been responsible for bringing into the world"

Funnily enough, I never hear from them after that - which is really odd, because I've given them what they asked for - special terms
