Two questions - 1. anyone

RE: servicing of digital xray Agfa CR30
if you are coming to service a specific machine, you have a few spares in the van
But your service engineer who used to 'do plumbing' in a wet chemistry processor finds themself working for a company who now resell and service digital processors, which are a very different beast and require a very different, often higher, skillset which they may well lack / lack training.

Also as well as servicing electrical equipment, they are now dealing with computers and software and networking and again may lack the skills to do this or troubleshoot this; hence the time they spend on the phone asking a friend?

RE: servicing of digital xray Agfa CR30

I would have thought a basic would be that if you are coming to service a specific machine, you have a few spares in the van or is it better business to try to make a 'repair call out' with extra travel and time added and then have this sort of reaction when the 'repair' is apparently valued about a quarter of the value of the machine??

Anyone know the telephone number of 'Rogue Traders'?

My feeling is that lots of companies jumped into reselling digital systems without a clus as to how they are set up, how they run, how to troubleshoot or how to fix them.

RE: servicing of digital xray Agfa CR30

No idea but the chap that services our Fuji system seems to spend most of the time wielding a hoover and tut, tutting on the phone.
