I'm writing a blog and want to recommend it but their website doesn't exist anymore and I can only find a few second hand copies for sale on Amazon and although it claims to be available on iTunes

RE: Sounds Scary CD?
Yes indeed - I also find it useful to treat the owner as well as the pet.

Actually I think there is sometimes a placebo effect going on here - if the owner believes whatever the vet gives the animal is going to work then they (the owners) are happier and more relaxed - and probably the animal picks up on this and is in turn less stressed itself....?

Whenever I get in a practice that keeps it in stock I'll give it an earnest try, the problem with being a locum is that you don't know if people keeps in stock what you like better and in some small practice changing the stock isn't practical.

My Ginny too isn't scared of fireworks, it was more people around the house she didn't like. And she used to be a pain with scratching the carpets, she not resolved but she's better.

RE: Sounds Scary CD?
I haven't used it, I have used Zylkene for treating my cat stress,Unfortunately needs a bit of foresight from the owner as if you start using it on 5th on November it is a lost battle.
That is the theoretical advantage of Calmex - that there is an almost immediate effect, albeit there is a lot of individual variation.
I haven't used it, I have used Zylkene for treating my cat stress, as she was very scared of anybody else but me or my wife, it has worked well and eventually I've managed to stop using it, she's better than she was even if she has her moments. Unfortunately needs a bit of foresight from the owner as if you start using it on 5th on November it is a lost battle.

RE: Sounds Scary CD?

I haven't used Calmex but my own dog has had Nutracalm for the last 3 nights and hasn't bothered about the fireworks at all. Its amazing how everyone moans about their pets being scared of fireworks but wants a quick fix and isn't prepared to put in any time or effort or pay for lasting therapy and then rock up on November 5th for the 'yellow pills'!
