Naughty Gillian, no nothing to do with us, even if I could have arranged it I wouldn't have, these things always end badly. His father had perpetrated a particularly nasty underworld killing, the victims friends took it out on the son. Karma.

No comparison as I'm sure you will agree. We've been broken into several times over the years, bit of mess and a nuisance but no more than that.

Counselling and support organised through Police Scotland.

Delighted to be able to tell you that the miscreant was badly beaten while in prison.

Out of interest did you say this to your team who were robbed at knifepoint?

Supplemental question - did you organise the counselling and medical support for your team traumatised by the knife attack; only you wrote "etc." when listing what they needed and I'm not clear what your input was?

The kindness of clients - one of our clients has been anxious since hearing the news from a taxi driver. He phoned first thing to offer money if it would help

The police - whilst a little formulaic a call today to bring us up to date with their side of things and a management of our expectations, which was also thoughtful.

The staff have been asked not to use the word "nice", because it's such an awful word.

I can't remember but apparently I used a politician's turn of phrase on TV. I said "Let us be clear...." Oh dear, never mind, today's virtual chip wrapping.

another time they worked the gun safe off the wall (miracle) then manually bent it to get hands in, and then as there was no cash left it?

just advised by insurer's that cash in BS gun safe not considered adequately protected. must be a cash safe.

I'm not sure. With the media now we hear about these things so much more readily. I have no reference, but I saw a documentary last year sometime suggesting it was now statistically safer to walk down a street in London than ever before in recorded history.

I definitely do not hold with the idea that anyone taking illegal substances deserve everything they get. However they have to understand that they are taking a very great risk and that the consequences may be fatal.

Someone being handed an amoxycillin tablet, thinking it is going to provide some sort of high. is going to be in big trouble if they are highly allergic to penicillins!

It is the NHS and other emergency services that have to pick up the pieces and the taxpayer to fund it.

Most people taking illicit substances are experimenting. More silly than evil. A bit like playing chicken on a busy road.

Sadly we are seen as a soft target especially as our cupboards contain ketamine. Most of the other stuff is worthless to the knowledgable!

Gerry I'm 100% with you.

Stephen. You're partly right. When I was a child,the population of this country was 50 million, it's now 64. If crime rates stayed the same,there would be a 28% increase in totalcrime figures.

HOWEVER

There has also been a deterioration in attitudes towards some crime. Take JGWs specific problem - illegal drug use. I get the impression that whilst most of you would condemn burglars, you don't see anything too bad in drug taking. If that was frowned upon as much as it was when I was young, then the market wouldn't exist,so the burgalrs would have had no incentive to break in!
