Reasons are that a) after all the investment I've been making in the sites, I'm probably earning

RE: Veterinary job advertising / jobseeking

Brilliant service!
Hi CatherineThomas

Feedback like that is so helpful - thank you. I've added Exotics Vet as a category and recategorised your advert for you. It now appears as one of one advert for anyone looking for an exotic vet!

Currently there is no option for exotic vet and I think for my exotics job that I have on here currently i'm unlikely to get people who are interested in it by searching geographical area. For me to search for my own advert without using the area i have to go through several pages even though I only placed it a few weeks ago. I'm sure there are other types of job which would also benefit from being more searchable, although I realise it may be difficult to balance covering everything without having too many options to choose from.

RE: Veterinary job advertising / jobseeking

[quote user="Michael Woodhouse"]Has anything been done looking at where vets find jobs? I put an advert on here and got 0 applicants. I put one on the Vet Record Jobs site and had nearly 30.
That's why I am not going to start charging yet. Anecdotally, I have heard quite a few people saying that they've filled a position using VetSurgeon / VetNurse, but equally, people like you who say they've had a poor response. Obviously lots of possible factors, but I won't be charging until such time as feedback is more uniformly positive. And when I do, it'll save you a small fortune.

It is in the pipeline. We hit a small hurdle with the new text editor, so now due with the next upgrade, along with CPD recording function and automatic expiry of job adverts together with reporting of the number of page views for each job.

If we are looking for staff again then I don't think I would pay on here for an ad, although I would place a free advert. I worry that charging may kill your job advert section.

Off the wall suggestion - could you do it on a 'no vet no fee' ie if you find a member of staff via the forum you pay a fee (like when buying a house)? I'd be quite happy placing my next ad under those terms, although it may be hard to police.
