We want a machine capable of consistent good image quality, mainly for abdominal scanning (not referral level but we're talking routinely scanning

RE: Sonoscape ultrasound machines

I've not used the Sonoscape personally so can't comment.

However as someone who does a lot of scanning both abdo and echo, if you're looking for a hybrid between portable and quality in then consider the Esoate MyLab Five or 30 (VetGold) (or if you're happy for it to be on a stand, the MyLab 60). Retail around mid teens depending what you want. Good selection of phased array and abdominal probes available, good training and support also. They'll let you have one on trial too.

Overall I've been underwhelmed with the BCF machines for echo (although haven't tried the mindray). Hsitorically BCF machines have had better Doppler than the Esoates, but poorer B mode detail. This may have changed, however.

RE: Sonoscape ultrasound machines

Thanks, will pass on the suggestion.

RE: Sonoscape ultrasound machines

I had a play with one of these:

Amazing image quality - not sure on the price. Doppler scanning ovaries and testicles.
