Wonderful PR for our profession and well worth listening to on demand

RE: BBC radio 4 the vet will see you now

I spoke with the producer about this program. Vets are certainly working to increase that and I'm not sure the NHS record keeping systems are very joined up either .

All in all they suggested medics could learn a great deal about customer care from vets if they spent time observing a vets waiting room which is interesting and rather revealing.

Did you enjoy RCVS day Jo ?

I was a bit disappointed by a few things, what did you think?

They couldn't resist 'jokingly' referring to Jessie J's 'It's all about the money' with reference to vet practice.

The vet said that many cruciate ops were probably done unnecessarily - not my experience - I'd say that more often, necessary ones are not done.

They said there wasn't much of an evidence base in veterinary medicine. I beg to disagree!

The GP kept referring to 'free' treatment on the NHS until a vet client reminded him it is not free.

However it was, in the main, positive, and whilst we all know that medics could learn from vets, it's the first time I've heard a medic say it so that's got to be a good thing!
