A bit harsh possibly ? Never had any dealings with him but the TV image makers do need an image to sell , the modest shy man or woman who stays in theatre all day doing good things then goes home to his/her modest country home and modest family is not that interesting to those that are hooked on Jeremy Kyle and East Enders.

I have heard concerns over the "meritocracy or lack of in the distribution of Residencies" , but that happens elsewhere too.

[/quote]I've documented my experience and it wasn't positive. He may be a very good surgeon, even the best in his field, although many may challenge that, but it is like comparing Christiano Ronaldo to Lionel Messi, They are the best two footballers in the world and they both earn a Kings ransom but one is an arrogant, self publicist the other humble and modest. I leave you to figure which the aforementioned can be compared to.

I have very little or no problem with Noel Fitzpatrick. I admire what he is able to do, disagree with some of it on welfare considerations. I have seen some procedures that are very clever but worry about the appropriateness.

He clearly does know a lot and puts everything into his veterinary life. He is a showman but a lot of vets are! He has made a fair amount of money but not at a cost to the profession. Nothing he does devalues us and plenty improves the public confidence in vets.

I have never had dealings with him or his practice but have to admit to being a bit mystified by the strength of the 'dislike' some show!

At BVOA in Brighton last year when he got a mention the behaviour was a bit reminiscent of taking small children to a panto. And thats from people in other Universities, But there are some "massive egos" out there, and some "peeing up the wall is going to happen with life's competitors", that aside it was a very interesting helpful and informative experience.

I suggested that however humiliating this may be for her and her family with her being on there, in the greater scheme of things it may benefit her music career in the long term. She told them to take a flying leap. She is obviously more sensible than her father.

Yeah but they like watching Jeremy Kyle, Kim Kardashian and Big Brother as well so what does that tell you?!

1.JK is a useful stimulating educational tool , it gets humanities students out of bed at the crack of 10:30 and makes them graft a bit ,lest they end up as JK fodder too.

2. KK avoid this person and anyone like her

I personally wouldn't want my veterinary education too specialised whilst at vet school. Partly because I don't know what I want to go into yet even at the end of 4th year (although I have an idea of what I don't want to do) and partly because I feel that it is good to have a general knowledge across a range of subject/species.

I think students need a bit more than ambition to go and get the 'experience they need'. The reality is that some practices are over subscribed and this will only get worse with more students. I have seen practices book up for 2 years or more in advanced and it's difficult to plan that far ahead, especially when you don't know which practice is a 'good' one. I think it also depends on the vet who you are with; how much individual vets let you do can vary greatly. So I do think you need a bit of luck! And if you want to get to a 'better' practice further afield from home or go abroad then you need money too.

I quite admire him, some of its very innovative, and the rest of BVOA is probably green with envy over the exposure and the unconventional route taken to get there , and the clients like watching it, and if they are having something similar done it takes a lot less time to explain things , I am sure lots ends up on the editing floor ,and if he was not there those gargoyle clients would driving someone else mad . Not keen on all that touchy feely stuff though , I think clients should not be encouraged into your personal space, familiarity and contempt etc. I think thank you very much a paid bill maybe a card or box of chocs for the staff , not free entry to a grab a granny session .

As I understand it, steroid responsive meningitis mainly occurs in younger dogs and usually has a much better prognosis, with most cases going in to complete remission. The prognosis with GME however is much more guarded. And I hate Supervet too, it has to be the worst of those programmes. Both him and the sort of clientele he deals with.

Actually in answer to the question - no-one. The location of my practice premises: 5 minutes from Heathrow, 2 minutes from the M4/M25 and a main railway line into Paddington, means I will get a far greater return turning it into flats and renting.
