I've got this error code when download the mac version.
Any ideas especially as apparently every business must download the new version this year?

Thankyou Evelyn, that was it, successfully downloading as we speak

Last year it took several attempts before I could download the RTI software but not before I just had to estimate the wages so the nurses could be paid. For most of this year I have been getting an error message saying 'On hold' when I submit the data. It appears that the data has been submitted but I have to go by a devious route to be able to make another payment. I checked with HMRC helpline and after an interminable wait and exchange of emails we discovered that the data had been transmitted and they couldn't find a reason why this was happening. So on their advice I un-installed and re-installed the software and restored the data from my back-up but the problem persisted.

I have downloaded the 2015-16 software and it appears to have installed, I even made a trial payment and it seemed to accept it so fingers crossed but its still telling me last year's submissions are on hold.

One of the issues I have is that you have to wait forever to get through to anyone on the helpline and there doesn't seem to be an email address you can contact them on. When I did find one they just told me to call the helpline.

I don't know if HMRC have even received their year end summary but quite frankly so long as I can pay my staff and they get their PAYE contributions each month its up to them to sort out.

Re: HMRC PAYE tool - issues with a mac

Dunno. Mine was OK. What system are you on?

HMRC software used to be very, er, problematic to install on a Mac because the developers didn't really consider MacOS properly. But for at least three years I've had no problem at all.

You need to phone the HMRC helpline. When I have needed to contact them they have been useful

Or, in the meantime, check your Security preferences and see if there's something you can change. I'd guess that Apple set the default as "from the MacApp store only" ! Or maybe you should turn the Firewall off. (Don't forget to turn it on again!).
