If there is a urethral spasm again there must be a trigger so maybe a UTI. So once again IMO the effort is better spent concentrating on investigating/treating the cause rather than the effect.

Re: Struggling to get phenoxybenzamine (dibenyline)

I have seen a number of cases with no uroliths, so I assume either mucoid plug or urethral spasm. I catheterised one of them without meeting any resistance at all (can't remember if it was sedation or GA) and have always thought that could have been spasm. It didn't recur in the short term, don't know about long term.

Re: Struggling to get phenoxybenzamine (dibenyline)
Thought as far as I remember is not that clear that urolithiasis is the main cause of the problem
It is difficult to see what else would have been the initial trigger and I know some cats do get urethral spasms post un-blocking but I've yet to hear of one where spontaneous urethral spasms were the primary problem.
