It's my friend's dog. He's has immune surpressive steroids a d now has severe muscle wastage. He can't get up unassisted. I think he needs the full support as all 4 legs are affected.
He is getting brighter and his imha is a lot better but he really struggles to move his legs just now. I'm hoping this isn't he end for him -(((

Re: What's the best harness to help an off its legs collie?

how about: http://www.orthopets.co.uk/mobility-solutions/help-emup . I used one of these

http://www.caninespirit.co.uk/master_products/148

This one also looks good

http://www.caninespirit.co.uk/master_products/88

They were designed for mountain rescue dogs to lift them up crags etc. There was a wide and busy road junction we had to cross on walks - not easy with a slowly plodding geriatric dog - the carry handle meant I could pick him up like a suitcase and avoid becoming roadkill

Re: What's the best harness to help an off its legs collie?

If you're after something to help walk it outside for toileting, i find using the cloth/reusable supermarket bags with the ends cut out works really well (so the handles, sides and bottom are still intact, then you can put the dog into it). Hope that makes sense.
