Some pals of mine are on a cruise just now to go up and see it, currently in Norway making their way back. He got some amazing 100% Eclipse pictures (he's a photographer). So jealous!

Ha Ha. I think you made the same mistake as me (in my case, I got my young daughter all revved up to go and look at the supermoon, only to discover that it occurred the night before the eclipse!

But there are another 3 supermoons this year, so at least she doesn't have a huge wait till the next one.

Nice photo! The eclipse images are lens flares (usually internal reflection around the lens).

[/quote]Killjoy. I actually forgot about it and just thought it was a bit dull out. Who saw the aurora though? - that would be well worth seeing. Still waiting for the blue moon.

Wot's all the excitement about - so, it went darkish for 20 minutes.

Most nights it goes proper dark for a good 12 hours.

Make your own eclipse - just hold a 10p up in front of the sun.

Weird!

Yes I saw it and haven't seen a thing since!!!

. Old x-rays are ideal for looking at it,trying to superimpose the sun on my knee as it were? One can understand how superstitions arose a few thousand years ago when it was all unexplained . I don't know whether cavemen went blind or used their X-RAY plates though!!

Perfect weather in Cornwall - a bit of early morning mist, which made the whole thing very visible through a bit of xray film*

I was on a TB test reading, which the farmer had wanted to postpone, in case it became pitch black. I persuaded him that we'd muddle through....

Pretty good view of it here in Wiltshire! had to use my daughters sunglasses though which are tiny!

I hate when that happens, you struggle all the way up the hill and all you can see is cloud/fog. I always feel cheated.

In Aberdeenshire here and a group of us climbed a nearby hill, thinking it would make a spectacular setting. We were just near the top and saw clouds rolling across and ended up in thick fog. Couldn't even tell it had go e dark. Annoyingly if I'd stayed at home I could have seen it.

Nice pictures Sammy82! Missed it here, stuck in consults, but it did go quite dark outside. Annoyingly, the owner said afterwards, "Oh I forgot it was the eclipse, I would have said lets all go outside & have a look!" But everyone since then has said it was too cloudy here anyway!
