combination of bottom 2 , local practice set up cooperative non-profit making OOH covering themselves and 6 or 7 other practices, week nghts on shared 1 in 5 rota weekends by ooh staff who only do this.

I ticked single-handed practice,and do own OOH, as I do 90% of it. However, I also have an arrangement by which a neighbouring practice covers when necessary.

I only do equine so obviously very different, but I do a quiet 1:2. Work days are officially 8.30 - 6, but more realistically we often finish by 5pm. Day length is an issue for me as I have horses to ride before or after work and also try to fit some exercise in for me. 1:2 is really too much, we're working towards 1:3, but I'd always rather work a short day and do slightly more on-call (although that may be a biased view as it is pretty quiet). Regularly working 8.30 - 7pm would floor me.

Where I am currently is a combination of the bottom two. It is 3.5 vet SA practice, hospital status. An ooh vet is employed one week on one week off. The day vets work a 4 day week, and do one week day every 2 weeks, and one weekend in 8.

the RCVS have just done their survey it is on the rcvs website. 62% of SA vets do their own oohrs
