Looking on Defra disinfectant web site the general status for anigene has been suspended

Re: small animal surgery disinfectant

[quote user="Michael Woodhouse"]

that DIDN'T sell Trigene. Trigene was sold by Medichem International Marketing,
now MEDIMARK SCIENTIFIC who replaced Trigene with ANIGENE; you might recognise
the same livery

[quote user="Bob Russell"]

I suspect there is an element of the dirty tricks brigade returning. There has always been a major issue and bad feeling between the company making Trigene (Anistel) and those selling it.

As I understand it Anigene is manufactured by the people that used to sell Trigene, not make it! From memory Trigene was not DEFRA approved for much of its life either.

http://www.medi-mark.co.uk/?/news/article/where_defra_aproval_is_required/

I have to say these sales tricks have prevented me from having any dealings with the Anistel makers. DEFRA approval is not a requirement and does not indicate a weak product. It simply means that in the face of a notifiable disease outbreak the product should not be used (officially). We have a small tub of Virkon tablets for use in that eventuality!

Do you want to deal with a company that works by these ethics?

Beaten to it by an industry member!!

Unless I have got it wrong again Anigene (Medichem) are the ones that have always behaved correctly and never slagged off the opposition. Anistel are (I think!!) the ones that have what I consider dubious sales tactics.

If I have got it wrong again I will retire mumbling Anigene, Anistel, Anigene until the happy pills kick in! Apologies to the good guys and to the bad guys!

It’s most unfortunate thatcompetitors resort to scaremongering and such activities should be ignored; perhaps it would be best to contact the direct if they have concerns? I know that MEDIMARK SCIENTIFIC is re-testing but probably recognises that DEFRA APPROVAL at dilutions like 1:2 is in reality somewhat impractical. I know that they’ve launched another product called ANIGENE NaDCC in the event of a notifiable disease outbreak which has very good dilutions. As far as I’m aware ANIGENE HLD4V still has the broadest spectrum of testing and in dirty conditions for things like Parvovirus so there’s the DEFRA element relay has no impact.
