I've heard rumours from some branches that they only have enough money as a national organisation for the next 3 months

[/quote]

This sums up the problem with the RSPCA. Each branch is run independently and relies on donations and money raising locally. I understand head office takes a share and spends it on nice salaries, PR people and smashing buildings.

I am more than happy to be corrected but this works well in times of plenty but not so well when things are tight.

Not sure if the donations from the estates of benefactors goes to head office and trickles down or perhaps just replaces a car or two. Possibly goes towards some of the political work that goes with them keeping a high profile.

In 2011 investments valued at £77.9m. Fixed assets £89m. Designated funds £104.7m.

Pension deficit £43.1m!!

Not often I agree with Hannah but sell up, move somewhere cheaper (a large shed?). Waste less on pointless prosecutions.

Google RSPCA balance sheet, the figures are all there. No money?

Re: RSPCA

If the Inspectorate folded, it would be a very very sad day for animals.
