We've done them on a rota - so everyone has their turn to present. If we have a student for 2 weeks (or one that comes back) then they have to present in their 2nd week.

Can be on specific topics - like you say.

Interesting papers.

Difficult cases.

Clinical audit/lessons learnt.

Try to define practice protocol (this can be a long meeting.....)

Reports back from recent CPD courses.

For the students we have a list of questions/statements in case they are struggling to come up with something. Eg:

"should we routinely neuter bitches"?

"are antibiotics indicated in kennel cough"

"evidence for navel dipping in farm animals"

It works quite well. We have a A4 minutes book and whoever talks must write a 1 page summary of what we discussed.
