&lt;p&gt;I spoke to the Dechra rep about this last week. Apparently Leo Pharmaceuticals own the rites to use the &amp;#39;Fuci&amp;#39; part of the name, and when they sold their animal health care division to Vetexx, which has now been swallowed up by Dechra, the use of the name wasn&amp;#39;t included in the sale. More highly trained than doctors - the course is longer, six years!!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;RCVS was someone to pay money to each year but otherwise kept their noses out of day to day practice. Not even heard of the PIC or DC!&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Veterinary Drug Company, with twice daily delivery from down the road. Farm post-mortems and lab work done FOC to benefit food production. Every other patient getting a good dose of antibiotics and steroids but magically getting better, most of the time.&lt;/p&gt;
&lt;p&gt;Less stress from treating animals because client expectation was more realistic BUT horrific stress because of longer hours and zilch life/work balance. &lt;p&gt;Nowadays pit ponies sound like something from Victorian times, but they were still in use in the (ailing) collieries in the 80s.
