I was looking at getting a few new books for one of our surgeries. Ideally i would like a surgery text, internal medicine and a formulary. We already have a copy of Slatter, Canine Medicine & Therapeutics & BSAVA formulary and I was planning

Re: Books - What is in your practice library?

Would recommend most of the BSAVA manuals too - Ettinger is dry and not really practical, not to mention American so not always relevant. The BSAVA manuals, with the exception of the Nephrology one, are fabulous, practical and well written. Their Emergency and Critical Care one has saved me on a few occasions!

Re: Books - What is in your practice library?

It works, it is just slower and less useful than searching a pdf that also has an index file. That is almost instantaneous and you get a nice list. Firefox has a similar CTRL-F which is very quick. Maybe just me getting impatient. Just a minor gripe but something BSAVA should have included. It wouldn't have taken them more than a few minutes to do.

Works even if you just have reader.

Hope that helps

I went for the three books above in the end. I have the BSAVA formulary on my laptop as a pdf and it is a bit of a faff as the search isn't as good as it should be. It needs a pdx index file to be a better search but that needs acrobat professional to do. Still nice to have a paper copy as well though!!
