You think that damage is bad, imagine the damage to the car if this fell on you! Most of the tree is in my field so plenty of logs to burn!

My neighbour had just driven down the road and missed it by minutes!

Really sad end to one of our beautiful oaks, came down last night - dammit!

Yes, but on the other hand, I did get to park wherever I wanted (wheelclamps wouldn't fit on those tires, and even if they did, they wouldn't stop me driving off)

Must be a bad time for vets (or related!) and cars - I've just got mine back after being in the garage for two weeks for repairs following an 'accident' in which an older gentleman decided he didn't need to look in his rear view mirror when reversing out of a space...then once he'd hit me once, decided that he'd try to get out of the space again but harder this time .

Not only that, but the day after I got my car back, a run-away trailer that had detached itself from a Landrover, missed the back end of my car by 3 inches, hitting the car behind me and totally caving in the front end!

Just waiting for the third one now.....

Many years ago when my younger daughter was about 8 years old we were involved in a road rage incident as I was picking her up from school (It was of course the other driver's fault but he though it was mine!) which resulted in him getting out the car and challenging me to get out. I duly complied but as the pen is mightier than the sword managed to diffuse the situation verbally and without me swearing. However he was effing and blinding and showing no signs of stopping, then said daughter got out and to my shock said to him, 'No you're the one who should f**k off'. Whilst I was quietly proud she had been brave enough to defend her dad I told her off, not for knowing such words (I don't believe she learned it from me - I made a point of never swearing in front of my children) but because until now we had the moral high ground and we had now been reduced to his level. However he was not quite sure what to do at this point and skulked off to his car with his tail between his legs still muttering profanities, Daughter sat in the car with a smug look on her face for the rest of the journey home and I couldn't help but laugh.

Actually, I'm with Bob Russell on this one. It's the scroungers (of all nationalities ) I object to...............not the workers.

I went to schoolwith a girl who's father was Polish He had been a pilot in the Polish Air Force before 1939. When Poland was over-run, he flew his plane over here, and joined a Polish squadron of the RAF. He was very highly respected - and rightly so

Well, yes, that did occur to me. But I'm such a pathetic criminal, I couldn't even do a proper hit and run on a signpost!

But having got home I then worried that maybe I'd bent the signpost into the road in such a way that someone else would have an accident. So I returned to the scene of the crime to make it safe.
