Its not just insurance companies. I had a request from another practice for emailed clinical notes for a client who had jumped ship. I duly copied the notes and emailed to the address given and I got a reply from the same email address saying that address doesn't accept emails! Work that one out!!

Don't expect any extra money for that.

No great surprise, but Animal Friends are surpassing themselves by their inefficiency at the moment. One claim posted twice and faxed three times is their most recent hurrah. We have now been told that they don't accept (or perhaps even own) a fax. Wonder why they asked for faxed copies then....

Re: More Than
I've just had a direct claim refused by PetPlan
Bit premature there, having told me they weren't paying they've now paid, the cheque just dropped through the door, perhaps the client gave them a flea in the ear. But I've just had a direct claim refused by PetPlan for a bilateral haematoma operation which they have said was due to the atopic dermatitis which was pre-existing even though I've told them there is no reason to believe the two are connected.

Of course the client is now not responding to my communcications. And they wonder why we don't like making direct claims!
