I would like to ask some advice about my horse.

I might try synoquin too, good idea . So much more difficult when they are your own . I've got two elderly dogs too both on medication . Thanks for the input

Re: Has the old nag had enough?

As well as tendon probs does she have arthritis - a lot of older Shires do. If so, I find that Synequin really helps an old pony of mine.

What was she like temperment-wise before she became ill? Was she mainly a Shire ( real plod by nature) or mainly TB (total loon)?

Good luck anyway.

Am presuming she is on bute or danilon or similar. If not, then if she was mine that's what I would do. If she's uncomfortable on meds then retire if happy in field.

Re: Has the old nag had enough?

I may have posted this in the wrong place . Maybe I should have put it in the equine area and should red star myself. Just to clarify , my equine vet says carry on riding her and that I will know when it's time to stop but I want to be sure I am doing the right thing by her.
