Also the sort of people who do this sort of thing seldom have much brain or think logically so they may well retaliate with some broken windows or worse, even assault.

Surely the practice must have a very good idea who did this and have a little chat with them, after all, although this is cowardly and unfair, who know the offender might actually have a genuine grievance which he feels hasn't been addressed.

Er, wouldn't that just prolong the problem.

If it were me, I'd probably have run off to the local branch of Halfords and bought a can of white paint.

I'd have resisted the temptation to spray the windscreen at the same time.

Not far off? Right on the money more like!

The 'ghost' football stadium is a good example. 25,000 all-seater stadium originally built for a club in League 2 with planning permission for maximum attendances of 10,000! Club went bust a couple of years ago and it's now home to a lower league rugby side.

P.S. - I wonder if there's any connection with this story in the same paper:

A DISGRUNTLED resident has plastered a North-East town with posters attacking its council for their parking policies.

Posters spotted across Darlington recently accuse the local authority of creating a ghost town and damaging trade.

The anonymous protestor has created a variety of signs, all illustrated with a picture of a parking ticket.

One says “Welcome to Darlington, we don’t want you or your customers in our empty town” while another says “Welcome to Darlington, we love empty shops”.

I suspect there is probably a legal way of having this removed, probably on the grounds of defamation or something to that effect.

Pretty cowardly and frustrating act, but checking out the vets' Facebook page, their bonded clients do seem to be rallying round. the negative comment on FB refers to 3 years of poor service. I would argue that if you were that dissatisfied, why did it take you 3 years to change vets?!

The pedants will have noticed that according to the wording, it cost the practice a lot of money to inflict this suffering (it was 'at great expense'). Perhaps someone should correct the grammar for them!

Never takes long for the 'they just rip us off' and 'I got the same stuff off the internet for a penny' brigade to add their posts. Not a clue about the real world, of course.

I am just wondering if I can afford a van to do the same thing outside my practice! I bet this does the practice no harm and will generate a lot of sympathy.

Thank you for the help with the link :) Yeah they seem to have a lot of loyal clients and I suppose people would not have shown all that support unless something like this happened. Also the fact the sign says "dogs" rather than "dog" makes me think it's some deranged person who has something against them generally rather than a specific complaint.

In fact, I've just checked their FaceBook page and apart from a couple of negative comments, one of which should allow them to easily identify the person, the response is also overwhelmingly positive. I rather suspect the practice will come out of this situation with far more support, and possibly more clients, than they had before!

The vets are right, this is a cowardly act, hopefully they will find them and take them to task! However, the feedback on the article is overwhelmingly positive, which is great for the clinic, and maybe there is no such thing as bad publicity!
