Things like: 'How many times did you have to attend a OOH emergency away from the premises?
... when I've already said that I'm using a OOH dedicated provider?
Not sure

Re: RCVS Survey - a bit problematic

[quote user="tess"]
Can I have a link to the survey? This was a different survey, though. If a question is misleading we will change it rather than keep collecting data that is unhelpful. But we try to keep the same where we can, rather than reinventing the wheel each time.

Same relationship all professionals have with their clients.

We try to keep to the same questions, largely, survey on survey, so we can look for trends. We use the stats in response to questions on probably a weekly basis.

Having said that if anyone has feedback on specific questions, please email me and we can take it into account next time. L.lockett@rcvs.org.uk

Meanwhile, there is nothing to stop vetsurgeoners running their own surveys if they have burning questions!

Best wishes

The survey is largely the same year on year and we've been running this over 20 years. We add a few questions each time for current issues eg more on 24/7 this time.

The survey is designed by professional researchers the Institute for Employment Studies, who run similar surveys for many professions, including medics.

They also independently analyse the results to ensure they are reported fairly.

There are many different routes through the survey but I am sure we have not captured every possibility, but where flagged up, any issues will be taken account of in analysis eg the issue above around emergency care providers.

There has also been discussion on another thread ref the well being questions. This is a standard set of questions suggested to us last time (2010) by David Bartram, and although they may read a little oddly, it's a tried and tested approach.

So although I am sure it's not a perfect survey, the results will be very helpful and I would urge you all to complete it.

Thanks in advance for your help
