[/quote] I suspect the publisher is hanging on until there is a proper contract and copywrite agreement in place - so far its all been a bit amateurish and done on trust there were times when I wondered if it would happen at all. Once the big boys get involved we've got to get the i's dotted and the t's crossed or they may take us to the cleaners I have really no idea how it would work if someone bought it on Kindle. However as said to the others, PM with your address and I'll send you a signed copy much better that an electronic version.

In perfect honesty I didn't - i wanted a collector's edition signed one but then didn't get back in time before the exhibition closed. (Security guards were a bit OTT this year, chasing people out!)

Apparently (so I've been advised ) we've had 800 pre-sale orders but only managed to shift about 10 yesterday. It would have helped with a bit more pre-launch publicity but because we didn't know if we'd even get the first batch before BSAVA we didn't have time to promote it well.

I have to make an unashamed plug for the Veterinary Insurance Agency on whose stand the book was for sale and especially Keith Dickinson who has been the main driving force in the production and for believing in me more than I did. . If you people are not already doing business with them on your practice insurance and financial advice I can thoroughly recommend them for their honest, impartial and friendly way of doing business.

Sorry to anyone who may have rocked up to the stand Sunday expecting a signed copy but I couldn't make it.

I was at the Bird Fair when the latest volume of "The Birds of the World" had just been released.

The world famous artist, who had illustrated the volume brilliantly was, reluctantly, on the stand sort of shyly trying to promote it.

"Signed by the artist" he said to some scruffy birder.

"Have you got an unsigned copy?" was the reply.

I had to leave the stand.......
