Most people would fail their immigration exam! I did some out of interest and managed to fail one, even with Mr Google!

Of course this was a tragic episode and I doubt anyone would argue otherwise. I suspect the humour is more directed towards the crazy (perhaps literally in this case!) side of human behaviour.

Not convicted yet of any crime but an admission of crystal meth consumption. That should be enough to ensure removal from the register.

I read quite recently, can't remember where, that this was a well-recognised method of assassination, leaving no trace if done competently: the red-hot iron was introduced through an unheated metal tube.

Jesmond is the epicentre of cheap hotels and dodgy student accommodation in Newcastle, while there are some "nicer" bits, it can only really be called posh insofar as it compares well with the neighbouring suburb of Heaton, famous as the home of Cheryl Cole.

The time to talk of striking off is after the guy is convicted: innocent until proven guilty still applies. Behind the tawdriness is a lot of unhappiness. Someone's son, brother, friend is dead and another family is in turmoil.

Hell of a lot of exuberance!!

I think the fact he called someone else and had 'relations' with him, with a body nearby suggests he may be a little unfit to practice IMO.

The penalty from the RCVS would be the same, but you can appeal after 12 months, and I would hope that if Mr Chikosi were to appeal and was suitably contrite when he appeared before the DC (whether you or I feel he needs to be contrite is another matter), he would be re-instated. If this chap is found guilty and he is subsequently struck off I suspect the DC wouldn't ever be keen to re-instate him on appeal.

As my nephew said to me after seeing a horror film - how does one unthink it?

Thinking as a vet though - can one die per-acutely of a ruptured rectum? Blood loss possibly, asphyxiation and drug overdose would be higher on my dd list.

Getting on for 20 years ago, a retired veterinary surgeon (from Llandyssul) was convicted, and imprisoned for smuggling bird eggs(endangered species ) He was on the retired list, and was still struck off.
