Anyone else from the vetsurgeon community going to be there?

Re: NAVC
Speaking as a fan of the original show, this is a GENIUS title and I'm in love. :)

What's the Ignite! programme?
https://www.facebook.com/NAVCIgnite is the NAVC Ignite! program - think TED talks meet vet medicine. 15 minute brief punchy talks on issues and challenges facing vet medicine today; as well as four workshops on mindfulness, vet school design, euthanasia in practice, and gender in the veterinary profession. There's a list of speakers, a bit of an outline on the talks; it's in Marriott Canary 1, 2, 3 & 4.

And yes, I do agree that the USA speakers that come over here are very enthusiastic and charging; there's a bit of southern baptist in the DNA, I think! :) US lectures are very much 'keep them interested' and not just 'drown them in facts'. That said many UK lecturers are really excellent presenters; i think you may have had a little bad luck in that respect, the US has duff lecturers as well, I promise! :)

Fab value for money, great speakers and exhibitions. The only downside is vets with giant stetsons in the front row of lectures blocking your view :) Oh and putting on about 2 stone weight from all the food. The wetlabs are great value too if you get a chance to do them. Clients are wildly impressed when you tell them you've picked up new techniques in America. Oh and if you're staying in one of the conference hotels you can see the lectures live on the telly in your bedroom. Am jealous, have a great time,

Let's Get 'Em Eating: Treating Oral and Maxillofacial Trauma	18-Jan-2014

Emergency Medicine: Tales from the Dark Side	19-Jan-2014

The Board of Examiners Would Be Displeased: Dental Cases from St. Elsewhere	20-Jan

So I'm planning on fitting in things around those - going to use the flight to plot a plan of attack.

One of the reasons I'm really looking forward to going is that every time I've heard an American speaker at one of our CPD events over here they've been so incredibly driven and enthusiastic - some of our European guys and girls and great but some are a tiny bit...dull. Obviously a bit of a numbers game and I'm sure some at NAVC will be dull too, but it's huge enough that it shouldn't be hard to find good stuff. I'm looking forward to the exhibition as well - always good to collect more ballpoint pens!!

(also going to the Vetstreet tech symposium and a few other odds and ends!)

What's tickled your fancy in Florida?
