A few days ago, I accidentally found two forums on the internet, where owners were writing names of veterinarians, and where they work, and that the others should never go there with their pets. They were also making "evil" plans about how

Re: Forums about "bad" veterinarians - by the owners

You are right Susie! There are legal precedents for this eg. http://www.bbc.co.uk/news/uk-northern-ireland-21354945. (Obviously I'm not a lawyer, this is my understanding from legal advice we have taken for our vethelpdirect our website which has reviews). We have been told if the website check posts before making them live it is their liability, and if not it is the person leaving the review. The group can also be reported to facebook https://www.facebook.com/help/266814220000812

The only reassuring thing about the facebook group is that there are only 218 members and its not indexed by google. Its probably more of a priority to check what happens when the practice name is googled, this is likely to be seen by a high percentage of potential new clients. The practical solution is to encourage as many clients as possible to leave reviews, that way you get a fair reflection of your practice and bad reviews can be put into context. The danger of ignoring the whole thing is that only the very passionate people leave reviews. I am ashamed to admit that the only time I have ever bothered to leave a review, unless prompted, has been because I feel ripped off or have had a bad experience. I don't think I am alone and you do end up with a skewed online reflection of the practice if you are not proactive.

Re: Forums about "bad" veterinarians - by the owners

https://www.facebook.com/groups/179000142240944/?fref=ts

It's an open group on facebook, with 200 members. They are also suggesting good veterinarians here (according to them), but also some, you should not visit at all. Didn't read all the threads here now, just a few. Hope it helps.
