I am in practice in the Republic of Ireland and just wanted to run something by my colleagues in the UK. My practice stocks Royal Canin prescription and lifestage foods. I was recently contacted by our wholesaler who was 'delighted' to tell

Re: Royal canin prices

Those bear baiting contests don't come cheap you know -

We sell very few 'clinical diets' and patients seem to do just as well without them (with one or two exceptions)!

I don't waste too much time trying to sell foods any more despite being quite a fan of the basic range.

RC rep support is pretty good but if owners can get them at 'cost' price on the internet why should we bother?

We have flirted with Hills and Iams but stuck with RC because they had the best customer support, this has sadly become rather sparse recently, very few, nay any, visits from the reps, difficulty arranging refunds and negativity and defensiveness when complaints are made.
