The business was owned by the pet store. They have been there probably just over a year and have used some fairly aggressive marketing tactics to gain clients, so I'm not sure many local clinics will be sad to see them go from that point of view.

We contacted the vets they directed people to and they weren't given any prior warning and don't have any histories either.

Re: Local pet store (with vets inside!) closes

Was the veterinary practice owned by the pet shop, or was it a separate business renting space in the pet shop?

Re: Local pet store (with vets inside!) closes

[quote user="Michael Woodhouse"]

Maybe, thats a good idea. We will call them but the story makes it sounds as if they didn't have a lot of time before they had to clear out!

Otherwise it's something you can work around, although I appreciate not ideal. Unsure how an insurance company would cope in such a situation?

Re: Local pet store (with vets inside!) closes

One of the first corporates (VPI) owned a practice just down the road from me.They were veterinary only-and went into administration with no warning. In their case, they were taken over by CVS, so the staff turned up in the morning-to be told their bosses had changed. Suppliers were left out of pocket! With Pets at Home-either they'll all fold-or none-prob none, because as you say, they're a much bigger concern.
