BSAVA will shortly publish the new BSAVA Manual of Canine and Feline Radiography and Radiology. This foundation manual replaces the old BSAVA Manual of Diagnostic Imaging, and covers the fundamental principles of image interpretation for all body systems. A CD is included containing all the radiographic images. Copies will be available to purchase from October. BSAVA also has a comprehensive range of specialist imaging titles, covering Abdominal, Musculoskeletal, and Thoracic Imaging, together with a manual devoted to Ultrasonography.

I have that one also and think it's excellent for what it does (providing an atlas of normal images of juvenile and adult dogs and cats); don't exactly use it daily, but it is useful and handy to have around.

I like pictures and think a radiographic atlas like this is probably the most useful single diagnostic imaging book.

If I was purchasing now, I might be tempted by http://www.vin.com/APPUTIL/Misc/BOOKREVIEW/Default.aspx?id=17684 instead but I've not seen it, so can't really comment myself or compare the two texts.

To get a general imaging book, I'd worry that it might try to cover too much, but if that's what you want then I think you could do worse than http://www.vin.com/APPUTIL/Misc/BOOKREVIEW/Default.aspx?id=18865, but again not a book I have. (I'm assuming your branch clinic is mostly cats and dogs?)

I didn't like the older BSAVA imaging manuals and thought the sketches of radiographs were poor - haven't seen the newer ones - suspect they're much better.

I've not seen an ultrasound book that I liked, mostly because of lack of pictures. http://www.vin.com/APPUTIL/Misc/BOOKREVIEW/Default.aspx?id=10217&pid=22&catid=&said=1 looks promising, but again not a book I have.

www.veterinaryradiology.net is the best free online resource I've come across for xrays and there are various ultrasound things such as BCF freely-available videos.

We've got an atlas of interpretative radiographic anatomy by Coulson and Lewis. It has nice line drawings next to the radiographs to exaplain things and I find it quite helpful. We've got the BSAVA manual of ultrasonography which seems to be ok but I don't find the manual of diagnostic imaging very useful.
