No, Arnica 1M is NOT a herbal medicine. 1M means a homeopathic dilution to 1000C, which is, er, right off the scale in terms of homeopathic strength. It's more dilute than 10^-400. I'm afraid my maths isn't up to the calculation, but it is MUCH more dilute than 10^-400. To give you a reference point, a dilution of 30C is only 10^-60, and to ingest a single molecule of the active in that you'd have to consume all the atoms in the solar system.

Yes, I would also like to know what on earth a homeopathic anaesthetic is??? Poor dog, whimpering in pain. It probably went back to sleep within 10 mins as that was the only way to get away from the pain. If I'd had anything to with it there would be NO whimpering at all!!!

I agree Braden although the owner seems to believe it worked. There may be a bit of a misunderstanding here over the difference between homeopathy and herbal medicine which arnica surely is - not to say it would work any better but at least there may be some substance to it. But what bothers me even more is what a 'homeopathic anaesthetic' is! And I wondered if he performed homeopathic surgery!.
