Ok well I play in a local tennis league and have so far this season played - you guessed it - 7 matches

Also to win wimbledon you have to win 7 straight matches

Murray in 3 and the Lions by 25 - who could have called that?! Both games were fantastic, the Lions tour in general was fascinating entertainment and Murray was just superb yesterday. Indeed the whole Wimbledon tournament was very enjoyable this year. I often find the early rounds a bit predictable - it was also good to see some lesser players making headlines.

Inspiring to see British sport in such good shape at the moment, been a great few weeks with the Lions, Murray and Justin Rose all getting big wins. Was worried after last summer, we might have a bit of hangover this year. Over to you Mr Froome and Messers Cook, Swann and co.!

It was mentioned about Chris Froome but strenuously denied. Not sure what the problem with Lycra is......... Surely the more the better?

The cycling was actually really interesting with the start of the decent mountains. Two more weeks and it should be me cycling up those mountain passes. Just a shame it is going to be flat for the rest of this week. Still, it gives the sprinters a chance to shine. The other British victories (apart from the golf) was the triathlon from Kitzbuhel. On BBC at the weekend, the cycle was uphill and got upto a 24% gradient in the last kilometre. The run was more of the same. It looked brutal but British wins in the mens and womens race. Bring on the Ashes!

Ed's note: just so everyone knows that Sylvia hasn't gone mad. I've deleted the post before this, in which someone said they were watching the Grand Prix instead. But they posted it using the anon account. I don't think watching the Grand Prix is such a guilty pleasure that it needs to be posted anonymously!

Shame Lewis couldn't hold on to his pole position in Germany, though. Ah, well, at least Red Bull are based in Britain!

I was doing an 18mile walk (part of the Dales Way) so had to listen on my portable radio - bad idea! I was stomping along getting stressed and then ecstatic in equal measure. Not a relaxing walk at all!!

Can't believe the comments about his missed opportunities - it was a grand slam final against the world number 1 and he won in straight sets. Did you expect him to win every point?

It was an amazing match and he must have worked so hard for so many years to achieve that standard. Amazing.

I have to say that I thought when he blew his first 3 match point we were about to witness yet another heroic Brit wrestling defeat from the jaws of victory. But credit where is is due and what with the Lions thrashing the Aussies and Chris Froome (OK he was born in Kenya although his parents are British) is still leading Le Grand Boucle and Dan Martin (he's ostensibly Irish but he was born in Birmingham with an English father and has a Brummy accent to prove it and only defected to Ireland because the GB development squad didn't support him as he thought they should) won yesterdays' stage. Bring on the Ashes.

Well I enjoyed both yesterday!

I did a 200 Km cycle ride, without any pharmacological support, then arrived home in time to sit outdoors in my Lycra enjoying the sunshine with an ice cold beer and watching the end of the tennis. It was a great game and a fantastic achievement.

I am a typical Vet - 95% in an exam and I get annoyed by the 5%. Cannot help myself. It was a good match but was uncomfortable viewing at times.
