I still think he will ride past me with minimal effort, any terrain and any distance. He is also a 3hr 19min marathon runner so still in good shape. It does make a change though, Wiggo is a scrawny bloke at best, at least Cav and the sprinters look like they have some meat on their bones.

Got in for 8pm all excited but have now a) read your spoiler above and b) realised that there is no ITV4+1 on Freeview. Bah! Will attempt to watch on my laptop but it's got a tiny screen and I'd intended doing some computer-based work whilst I was watching.

Still, I'm quite liking having some bumpy stages first instead of 4 or 5 flat days before the first time trial.

Also when driving home turn the radio off, especially radio 5 at xx.34pm

Announcers don't start with ' Today in the Tour de France.......' they pitch straight in with 'Peter Sagan won a thrilling sprint finish'

ITV4 + 1 means you could catch the last half hgour of the highlights, thats what I aim for!

My cycle-racing-obsessive father (he dragged me - willingly - round many Tours when I was a teenager) has gone to extreme lengths to make sure that he can watch every stage in full this year. He tore his quads off his kneecap on Friday, has had surgery and been told to sit on the sofa for the next 3 weeks. Nice timing!

My husband doesn't get it. He watched Saturday's stage and wondered at the stupidity of racing 220km to all then be given the same time at the end!

Tour de Farce more likely after the first stage fiasco. I''ve done Cat 3/4 road races in the UK that were better organised than that!
