Colleagues' partner has set up a venue thing for the Tour in London this year - info through this website, but for those on here into Cycling, thought it may be of interest to you - especially if in London.

Stunning ride, only problem was its a bit short but we finished at a pub. Absolutely stunning.

The Bealach-na-Ba was voted one of the best mountain climbs in Europe, one to add to the bucket list along with Alpe D'Huez, Mont Ventoux or Col de Tourmalet. You will have to post photos of that one. Just a tad jealous but I am hoping the weather will be better in Pyrenees! Do the midges get that far north?

We are going to the Pyrenees in the summer so I will be doing my fanboy stuff and cycling up a few of the classic cols. I have a handful of HC & Cat 1 climbs planned and plenty of hill training beforehand. Might have to be a pain au chocolat at the top! We wont be anywhere near the actual race this year but big plans for 2014 for Leeds, Harrogate & York.

Could be wrong on that but spread the word amongst your cycling fan friends (I am disappointingly exercise-adverse).

Re: Tour de France/Cycling people...

Thanks, nice idea but I've got two sites sorted. The Tour goes past my old house, near as dammit, in Leeds, and my sister will have to put me up for a day or two.

Then, I have a good friend in Lancashire where the Tour goes past the end of her lane, at the bottom of a long hill, a few days after Leeds. She has a cottage out to rent so, I'll be taking the wife away for a special weekend just as the Tour happens to be there. There might be a bit of a whoosh and blurred spectacle when they go past there though.

Looking forward to it.

Re: Tour de France/Cycling people...

Sounds interesting, doubt if I'll get the opportunity to go but nice to know about thanks.
