Dear Douglas,

Thank you for bringing this matter to the attention of the VMD, we are in the process of requesting the removal of the products you identified from eBay. We are working with eBay to try and ensure that products such as these are not allowed to be listed in the first place.

In the meantime, we will continue to remove the products when they are found. If you come across further instances of these products being sold on eBay, please email enforcement@vmd.defra.gsi.gov.uk.

Worth phoning the VMD. I had a much more constructive conversation with a nice lady at the VMD who was co-ordinating action with Ebay and Amazon. I suspect emails and letters go into a 'box' and get ignored!

Royal Pharmaceutical Society govern pharmacies, not sure if the medicines themselves are their remit.

From the RPS:

The General Pharmaceutical Council regulate the sale and supply of medicines from pharmacy premises and they can confirm whether the site is a registered pharmacy.

The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Agency regulate the sales of medicines and they may also be able to offer further advice about internet sales of medicines.

Have emailed both re the Maxitrol.

Still no response from the VMD at all

Have emailed them. Will see what they say and hope they are more helpful than the VMD who have not yet responded to my 2 emails over the last 7 days.

I had noticed Cortavance too but forgot to mention it earlier.

It seems many of these items are being sold through Amazon by a company named Electromagnetic Inductions, based in Badajoz, Spain.

I have contacted both the VMD and Amazon too.

I first contacted Amazon around 2 weeks ago about Soligental eye drops. It was taken off, but has now reappeared again. I contacted the VMD at the same time, but thus far have not even been afforded the courtesy of a reply. So, not holding my breath.

The VMD and Amazon are aware of this problem so hopefully Optimmune should be removed pretty quickly. Worth contacting them as well if it stays up there!
