We have an ISDN-2e phone system. We also have a UPS (Battery for it).
We have BT's Total Care package for our lines. We were sold this on the pretence that this would allow us to divert the main line to a mobile

Re: Telephone Contingency Help Please - BT..
We were sold this on the pretence that this would allow us to divert the main line to a mobile in case of a long powercut/fire/disaster/tea or coffee spillage
It would seem that this was mis-sold; in plain language, you were lied to. Now BT is split up into so many nominally independent companies, none of whom seem to be able to communicate properly with each other, this is not unusual. Moral: always read the fine print, never assume anything unless you have it explicitly in writing, if in doubt about any contract then either do not sign it or annotate it by hand before signing.

We have had exactly the same issue re diverts if there's not a line fault, however our telco happily suggested that it was reported as a line fault and so could easily be diverted :)

Re: Telephone Contingency Help Please - BT..

We have always been able to divert the phone lines whether there is a fault or not although we don't have ISDN lines. You will get free diverts if it is BT's fault but you can usually pay the divert call charges. I would give them a ring back.
